Playing with her fur babies, drinking some delicious wine, and hanging out with her backyard chickens are just a few things you'll find Maribeth Martin doing outside of work. And we are excited to have her join the TMC Family as our new Social Media Coordinator.

Tell us a little bit about your background. What has your journey through digital marketing looked like so far?

I’ve been in the marketing industry for close to 10 years now. I have experience in a few different industries including radio, healthcare, and most recently, publishing, but I am super excited to jump in and learn all about the foodservice industry. Professionally, I’ve run the gamut in all aspects of digital marketing from newsletter programs to earned media campaigns and, of course . . . social media. While I’ve dabbled in almost everything, social media has been at the core of all my initiatives, and it’s been so much fun to see how the space has evolved over the years.

What do you find most exciting about working in the digital marketing industry, particularly in content and social media?

One word: Change. The digital space is constantly changing, from how we consume content to what we expect when opening our favorite social media app. With that, I’m constantly learning, subscribing to all the marketing newsletters, and staying current on the latest trends.

What are some trends in content marketing and social media that you're particularly interested in exploring or leveraging in your new role?

I’m excited to expand my knowledge and what we’re offering in the world of LinkedIn. This platform is particularly interesting looking at where it started -- as mostly a professional connection site -- to now,  a place still for professionals but also a platform for thought leadership and showcasing knowledge in your particular industry. This is something I believe TMC’s clients will thrive in.

If you could have dinner with any three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?

Hands down, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and Gene Kelly. I grew up dancing and performing and fell in love with the three of them at an early age. The grace, style, and poise they all present was something I idolized in my dance career. They’re three people that can’t ever be replicated.

You're joining our team from Florida. What are some things in your area you like to do? Any great restaurants you'd recommend?

My husband and I love getting out on our kayaks, just spending the day on the water and catching a fish or two. One of my go-to local restaurants has to be Food+Beer. Fairly self-explanatory with the name. They always have great craft beers on tap, and the food always hits the spot.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

It’s hard to pick just a few! I’d have to say my favorite thing is just spending time with my little family. My husband, my two dogs Chief and Daisy, my cat Princess, and our seven chickens (yes, they all have names, but I’ll spare you the long list).

What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done or something you want to cross off your bucket list?

What I’d love to cross off my bucket list is to make my way through our great National Parks. In my previous role, we ran a travel publication that constantly had me in a state of wanderlust, and National Parks were always a topic that stood out to me. A few in particular I’d love to visit are Grand Teton National Park, Sequoia National Park, and Glacier National Park.

We're excited to have you join the team! Is there anything else about you that you'd like to share?

I'm excited to be here! Anything else you'd like to know, feel free to drop me a line. I'm an open book!
