Tell us a little bit about your background. What has your journey through digital marketing looked like so far?

I came to digital marketing from the sales side, actually – a software company I was working for back when I lived in Silicon Valley needed someone to support their webinar marketing/lead generation team. Because I was getting my MBA at the time, it seemed like a natural progression to make the jump from the inside sales team to marketing. And that was that.

Somewhere between then and now, I became a huge fan of a little platform for landing pages and blogging called HubSpot that was building this idea of something called “Inbound Marketing.” It made total sense to me, and I was hooked. Today, it’s a huge SAAS company that has become an integral part of building a business for so many companies.

Over time, I’ve done B2B digital marketing in several industries, including enterprise search software, customer experience management, and auto finance. Most recently I worked for a foodservice and hospitality manufacturer for 10+ years, working to build out their digital marketing function to support their worldwide sales and product marketing teams.

After my family and I moved back to Richmond, my home town, I had the opportunity to work as an “army of one” for several different companies, taking care of almost every single digital marketing touchpoint you can name - up to and including writing blog and social posts, website copy, and marketing video scripts.

TikTok is on the short list of digital marketing tactics that I haven’t attempted, but never say never!

You're joining our team from Virginia. What are some things in your area you like to do? Any great restaurants you'd recommend?

Even though I am biased because I grew up here, Richmond – or RVA as many people call it – is a fantastic place to live for a lot of reasons.

In addition to a dynamic restaurant scene, there’s lots of live music, an amazing museum and parks system, and great schools for my kids. The Richmond Metro Area totally punches above its weight for its population size.

And if that doesn’t work for you, it’s two hours to DC, two hours to the beach, and two hours to the mountains. There’s always something to do.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

Tons of movies…my dad introduced me to Star Wars way back at the beginning so I’m all in on that. I also love Marvel, ‘80s action movies – remember that Die Hard is my favorite Christmas movie! – and lots of other things in between.

Other than that, I am kind of an old school nerd from way back - so I do a lot of reading, watching movies, and listening to music. We’ve got a 7th grader whose musical taste we are still forming so most recently we’ve dug out a lot of our CDs from the ‘90s for him to enjoy.

And, maybe a little bit conversely, I also grew up in a huge sports household. Between my parents and my two brothers, we covered a lot of territory there, whether playing or spectating. Tennis, basketball, swimming, baseball, football, etc etc etc…. I don’t watch SportsCenter three times a day anymore, but I do follow the English Premier League pretty closely since soccer is my favorite sport.

We're excited to have you join the team! Is there anything else about you that you'd like to share?

And I’m excited to be here – the team has been really warm and welcoming. Looking forward to connecting with you!
